Script


Hello My name is Fatema,
This my architectural proposition of  Pricking Points and Peaking Peaks. This was arrived from both my Design approach A and B, Where in design approach A I did an analytical study of  the misalignments that occur in the corners of the buildings until then I realized that these misalignments create these sense of  bowties in the line work drawing, I then took these triangular bowties and converted them in a spacious component. Lastly, I systematically combined these wrapping components to for other confined and defined space. This design approach brought me to the idea of Piercing points. However, design approach B contained the idea of twisting apertures, from design B I took one of the void space to carve out the openings in my Design A model. By doing that the circulation of in that model came to place. I then took into consideration my two occupants who are characters from the movie The Sound of Music, these characters are a 16-year-old girl and a 18 year old teenage boy in the Army, they Dance, study, workout, sing, write, stretch. Because the main activity was Dancing I transformed these wrapped constrained space into a loose light space. By doing that I stretch my planes and pinch my points extendedly. Now these occupants have their own comfy private zone where one could experience a glance on light do the the angled plane partially enclosing her extensive area, and the other experience qualified filtered light do to the seems(frame) covering his area. Both of their private zones are designed to reach out and lightly touches the building facades. This model also a sense of lightness sense these occupy-able spaces are cantilevered by the two private entrances. 



The program for this model is designed so that the female will have her own back private entrance that will take her to her personal space, from her room to the refined passageway which will take her to the center point of the model.  Then the male occupant enters his own front revealed entrance he could either turn take right to his private area or take a left and meander to the center. Both of the occupants meet in the middle-center area of the model they then take the constructed angled stairs up to the rooftop in order to perform. The roof top is a public open area, however, on the far right, there are two adjacent angles enfolding and moderately enclosing that area, almost making that space semi-discrete. Being said that most spaces in this models could be both private and semi-private. one could notice the natural light projecting in these space have an equivalent act; it could either be direct light or infused light from the seems. The circulation concludes in this model tends to have a sense of meandering or in other words two of them zigzagging their way to the top.  
Prospectively, this model contains a great portion of angles &triangles most of them are adjacently connected forming different effects like; mirroring, offsetting and also tapering, these moments as they come together in the bottom part of the model they add a sense of lightness to the overview of the model, almost if like these apertures are floating. 
In the end, I took that approach of refining this model into a graceful space that could satisfy these two dancers. The model acts correspondingly to their activities like; balancing smoothly and stretching extendedly.
